This was an important moment in my life. “Finally” is my first commercial release and was playlisted by more than 30 stations worldwide.

It started out as just a thought in my mind about childhood as I was speaking to my daughter about what she knows, versus what she can deduce by what she sees around her (I obviously simplified that for her as she is only 3 years old).

When I was younger, I was taught that when I’m older, life would start to make sense and be clearer to me, but the truth is it didn’t get any easier to figure things out, only harder.

Then weeks after, a friend of mine was giving me a reprimand in which he said the words “Just Start”, and my response was simply, I need to learn 1st, and back and forth we went lol.

That’s where my favourite line in the song came from, “The future is calling, saying destiny is waiting, are you coming? Are you staying?”

I then realized the future is unknown, it is literally walking in the dark. I got the picture of someone walking in the dark with a lamp. You can see a little in front of yourself as far as the lamp throws the light, which I interpret as the amount of knowledge you have of the past preparing you for the future, but you only see as far as you move forward.

That’s when everything just started to flow and I could finish the song in 1 sitting.
